The American painter Andrew Newell Wyeth was born July 12, 1917. He is currently one of the more popular artists in the country. Christina’s World (1948; in Museum of Modern Art, New York City), is a most famous 20th century American artwork. Wyeth is a realist painter producing regional art. Andrew was lucky enough to be born in an artistic lineage. His father, N. C. Wyeth, was illustrator and artist.
