At this year’s Art Positions, 20 young galleries present their special exhibition projects in converted shipping containers, located by the beach at Collins Park between 21st and 22nd Streets. Art Positions counts participating galleries from USA, Italy, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Norway, Spain and Denmark, chosen by the Selection Committee from over 120 submitted applications. For its 2008 edition, Design Miami moved from the Moore Building to a tent designed by the architecture and design firm Aranda/Lasch. This year, 23 galleries are participating in the fair and Design Miami inaugurates its own, curated exhibition entitled “Beyond Organic: Design in the State of Nature”. For the first time contemporary jewelry is shown, Ted Noten presents a handbag for very young ladies with very old rich husbands at Ornamentum Gallery.
