‘Works on Paper’ Shows New Art This Weekend in New York

Perhaps because works on paper have traditionally been called ‘minor works’, the 21st rendering of the ‘Works on Paper’ art show in New York City might make a major mark. The reference of ‘minor works’ refers to a comparison to oils on canvas which usually steal the limelight and the wall space in galleries, mostly for economic reasons. The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, hold the world’s largest collection of art work by artist Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890). Prolific Painter Even though Van Gogh was only active as a painter for a decade, today he is one of the most famous artists.
